But it's very important to us that we make change a convenient process, so even if you own a Maxtra or Maxtra+ Brita jug, we were so keen to create options for users to keep their existing products in more sustainable ways.

Last month, we launched the Phox Compatible cartridge. We did this so that those who loved their Maxtra or Maxtra+ but weren't so pleased with the environmental impact could enjoy the best of both worlds.

When we launched our V2 filter, a big excitement for us was the sustainability aspect. Now with the Compatible cartridge, Brita users can now bypass the CO2 and energy output involved in the process of recycling cartridges. As well as this, many Brita cartridges are not recycled by users and contribute to the over 100 million cartridges that end up in landfill every year. It's a real bugbear for many existing Brita customers.
3: Minimise single-use extras for your Brita jug...
What sounds better; 12 cartridges a year, or one for life? We love our Compatible cartridge, because once you have it, you're set to make gradual changes that are also incredibly convenient. As we only need to send refill packs, these fit through most letterboxes and each filter refill lasts 45 days.
Conclusion
Our mission and are aims are as flexible as possible and we want to include everyone that wants to make gradual changes to their lifestyle. Quite simply, we wanted to create options for people who wanted to implement more sustainable methods to their daily life, even if they were not quite ready to give up their Maxtra or Maxtra+ jug.
